List Data Sources of SAC Objects

The "List Data Sources" function is very helpful if you want to get an overview of the data sources of your SAC objects.
The function supports the object types Stories, Analytic Applications, Insights and Models and can be executed via the context menu in the Entity Grid or can be found in the System Scout and in the search view:

List of Data Sources in the System Scout ribbon and search

This function makes it possible to quickly identify which BW Query, HANA Calculation View, or S/4 CDS View is the basis of a SAC object.

First, a SAC system and an object type must be selected:

Cross-object type analyses of multiple objects are also possible!

After the objects have been selected, they can be analyzed via "Start Analysis".  The results are initially categorized as...

  • "REP" (BW Queries)

  • "CALV"(HANA Calculation Views)

  • "DDLS" (S/4 CDS Views)

Besides the technical name & description of the data source objects, the consumed Model and the used Connection ID are also displayed:

Data Sources of Stories sorted by Object Type

Via the context menu of the data source objects, cross-system documentation and analyses can be performed!

In order to identify the data source objects, the source system mapping must first be defined. If this is not the case and System Scout finds a data source, it displays the result as follows:

The results can then be documented using the Excel button:
